The Junior Chamber International (JCI), Ibadan Elite Chapter, has paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the Institute of Personality Development and Customer Relationship Management (IPD-CRM), and the management of Lead City University.

The visits, initiated by the Directorate of Partnerships and led by JCIN Amb. Ola Olalekan Olanrewaju, on Wednesday, 9th of July, 2025, aimed at securing strategic partnerships that will add value to members’ businesses and personal development.

Speaking at the various meetings, JCIN Amb. Ilerioluwa Johnson Babatunde, 2025 President of JCI Ibadan Elite, reiterated that engaging prominent individuals, federal agencies, NGOs, and private organisations is a key part of his administration’s vision. According to him, these partnerships are intended not only to drive mutual benefits but also to encourage eligible staff members (aged 18–40) from the visited institutions to consider joining JCI Ibadan Elite.

At the FIRS (Iwo Road MSTO) in Secretariat, Ibadan, the Tax Controller, Mr. Otulana Olufemi, welcomed the delegation warmly and expressed his willingness to engage with JCI Ibadan Elite on tax matters.

"Anytime you want me to come around, I will surely find time to interact with your members," Mr. Otulana stated. "I believe some of your members are business owners. I’ll be glad to educate them on tax compliance, filing procedures, and provide support for those facing challenges with FIRS."

He emphasised that the agency’s role is simple and direct:

"The lawmakers make the laws, and we implement them. Our duty is to assess, collect, and give account of all revenues to the Federation Account."

Mr. Otulana also advised the general public to be law-abiding by paying their taxes regularly.

"Only by paying taxes can citizens rightfully demand basic social amenities like roads, electricity, and water," he concluded.

In the same vein, Dr. Ayobami Owolabi, President of IPD-CRM and Deputy Registrar of Corporate Communications and Student Services at Lead City University, also pledged the institute’s readiness to partner with JCI Ibadan Elite.

"I have the authority of the Council to offer members of JCI Ibadan Elite a 50% discount on membership registration fees, regardless of the membership category," he said.

The IPD-CRM membership categories include:

  • Fellow – ₦250,000

  • Full Member – ₦150,000

  • Associate Member – ₦100,000

  • Student Member – ₦50,000

With the discount, JCI Ibadan Elite members will pay only half of these fees.

Dr. Ayobami also extended a special invitation to members of JCI Ibadan Elite to attend the IPD-CRM International Conference in Qatar, scheduled for September 23rd–28th, 2025, promising further discounts for interested participants.

Speaking on behalf of the Lead City University Management, Dr. Ayobami responded to the request made by the President of JCI Ibadan Elite, who sought institutional benefits and opportunities for members of the Local Organisation, particularly in short courses and postgraduate programs. Dr. Ayobami assured that he would leverage his office to secure a minimum of 20% discount or possibly more on any academic program that JCI Ibadan Elite members may be interested in.

These engagements mark a significant step in JCI Ibadan Elite's ongoing efforts to build value-driven relationships that support the development of young active citizens and professionals in Oyo State and beyond.
