Makinde Presents Beaded Crown, Staff Of Offices To Two Traditional Rulers, Elevate Others

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the appointment of the Onifiditi of Fiditi, Oba Sikiru Akanni Oyelese and the Elempe of Tapa, Oba Titilola Oyekanmi Sunday as traditional rulers in the state and has presented them with the staff of office and beaded crowns.

The governor made this announcement via a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola.

The governor also said that he has approved the appointment of Chief Akindele Sunday Olukayode as the new Baale of Awaye Town in Egbeda Local Government Area of the state.

The statement indicated that the governor also approved the elevation of 12 Part III (Minor) Chiefs in Oyo Town to Part III Recognised Chieftaincies.

The statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday indicated that the governor approved the appointment of Chief Akindele as the Baale of Awaye Town, a Part II Recognised Chieftaincy under the Chiefs Law, Cap. 28 Vol. I, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000, in line with Section 3 (a) and (b) of the same law, which empowered him to grant the approval.

In the approval for the elevation of Oyo Minor Chiefs to Part II Recognised Chieftaincies, the governor granted the approval for the elevation of Elepe of Isheke, Onaisokun of Oyoland, Baale Idoode, Baale Gudugbu, Baale Ojongbodu, Baale Akeetan, Baale Apaara.

Other elevated Chieftaincies in Oyo are according to the statement are Baale Aguo, Baale Ajagba, Olotefon of Otefon, Baale of Agooja and the Baale Imeleke of Oyo.
