Teenager Sentence To Six Month Imprisonment For Stealing Electrical Cables

A Magristrate Court in Iseyin on Monday, has sentenced a nineteen-year-old man, Isaac Olaoti, to six months imprisonment for stealing electrical cables.

Olaoti was sentenced to six months imprisonment for stealing by a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Iseyin headed by A.S Durowoju. 

Iseyin is one of the towns in Oke Ogun geo-political zone of the state.

Ibadan Media gathered that the accused was caught stealing electric cables at Oke-Oja maternity centre in Iseyin.

Olaoti pleaded guilty to the crime and pleaded that the magistrate temper justice with mercy.

He was subsequently sentenced to six months imprisonment with the option of four weeks community service.

“For stealing electric wire worth N50,000 which is the property of Oyo State Government and thereby committing an offence contrary to section 383 and punishable under section 390(9) of the criminal code cap 38 vol 11 law of Oyo State, Nigeria 2000, you are sentenced to six months imprisonment, with the option of four weeks community service,” the magistrate ruled.
