It was a sight of agony and fear as some suspected gunmen allegedly killed one person and kidnapped two others in Sepeteri area of Saki East local government of Oyo State.
According to The Chronicler, a Saki-based news outfit reports, the incident happened on Monday morning inside the Old Oyo National Park.
Sources said local vigilantes and some security men engaged the suspected kidnappers in gun duel, and this led to the rescue of one of the abductees, and they later went away with the other victim who is a man. Information has it that efforts are on to rescue the other abducted man.
The name of the man killed and those abducted are yet to be made public as the police authority in the town said they were on top of their investigation and pursuit of the criminal gang.
“The story is real. According to a credible source, one person was killed, two people were abducted and one has been rescued by the local vigilantes after exchanging gun battles with the bandits.
“As things stand, efforts are still being made by the local security to rescue the second person, “our source revealed. The incident has led to heighten tension within the community as some schools were deserted by pupils in the community due to security concerns.
