The executive members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Oyo State chapter paid a courtesy call on the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Pastor Sulaimon Olanrewaju, at his office in the Governor’s Office complex on Thursday afternoon.
During the visit, SWAN Chairman Comrade Niyi Alebiosu, expressed gratitude to the CPS for agreeing to play host to SWAN delegation after multiple attempts. Alebiosu acknowledged the warm reception and open-door policy extended to the visiting sports journalists by Pastor Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
Comrade Niyi Alebiosu used the occasion to formally congratulate Pastor Sulaiman on his appointment as the CPS to the State Governor and also enjoined him to assist in strengthening the cordial relationship between the Association and the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
“We are very delighted and satisfied with Governor Makinde’s friendliness with journalists since his assumption of power in 2019, and we’re assuring the State Chief Executive of co-operation and support from our members”, Oyo SWAN Chairman said.
In response, the CPS appreciated the visit and assured the readiness of Governor Makinde to support the Association in any means.
“I am delighted at the visit of members of my constituency, the press. I really appreciate your courtesy call and will try my best to ensure that Oyo SWAN continue to enjoy the support of this administration ” he promised.
Among Oyo SWAN executives who accompanied Comrade Niyi Alebiosu on the visit were Mr. Gbenga Olugbodi, Vice Chairman; Mr. Dapo Okunubi, Financial Secretary; Miss. Blessing Fowowe, Assistant Secretary; Mr. Ola Olanrewaju, Ex-Officio and CEO of Ibadan Media.
