3rd on MPS List, Agidigbo 88.7FM Celebrates 1st Year Anniversary, Set to Tour the City of Ibadan

The 3rd most listening Radio Station in Oyo State, Agidigbo 88.7FM, owned by Sure Etiquette Media Plus Ltd, is set to celebrate her first year anniversary, to tour the city of Ibadan, empower market traders with Deep Freezers, Tricycles, Motor Bike, Micra, Generator, and Cash.

According to the head of the Station, Adebayo Yousuf Grey, in a press conference organized by the management of the station on Monday at the studio’s office, noted that, out of many reasons why the station was established, the competition was never part of those reasons, said, their primary reason for establishment is to be the “voice of the people” and they’re trying to live up to that which has earned them to be the 3rd most listening radio station according to Media Measurement report.

Agidigbo is set to embark on a logging tour, tagged “Ibadan City Wide Thank You Tour” in appreciating their listeners across the city of Ibadan, the tour which will start from their office to Iwo-Road, Gate, Secretariat, and Bodija.

“Between then and now, we’ve been having a series of events but everything has been on a low but today officially is when we are taking off from where we left the other time on the 17th of March, and of course having this press conference and I can say that immediately after this conference we are having what we call Ibadan City Wide Tour” Yousuf noted.

While speaking further, Yousuf said it is part of the plans to alleviate some people out of poverty and that is why they’ll be visiting some 3 selected markets like Bodija, Aleshinloye, and Gbagi Market.

“We’re going to pick people randomly and empower them with a significant sum of money which they can use to start business and they’ll never go back to their previous position.”

“Mokola, Sango, Dugbe, Ring Road, Challenge, Molete, Oja’ba, Beere, Gbagi” Yousuf added.

As part of the activities of the anniversary, the Station will also be celebrating and awarding some 30 selected veteran Broadcasters/Journalists who have retired from the industry, they are: (1.) His Excellency Ambassador (Dr.) Yemi Farounbi (OON), Nigerian Former Ambassador to the Philippines,
(2.) Chief Bisi Adesola, Former Secretary to Oyo State Government and Head of Service, (3.) Engr. Lateef Folorunsho Busari, First General Manager, Television Service of Oyo State now BCOS TV, Ibadan (4.) Chief John Fademi, Former General Manager, BCOS, (5.) Baale Yemi Ogunyemi, Baale Oluyole, (6.) Pastor Akin Akinsolugba (7.) Pastor Ayodeji Iyanda (8.) Chief Ayodele Adeyemo (9.) Mr. PSO Taiwo Former General Manager, BCOS (10.) Prince Biodun Sanda Former General Manager, BCOS (11.) Chief Bamiji Ojo

According to the station’s HOS, “We’ll not just be giving them a plaque, we’ll also be giving some amount of money alongside.”

“On Thursday, 31st of March, Agidigbo FM will also be launching her Cooperative investment, an interest-free cooperative investment society.

While reacting, Yousef said, “In a way of appreciating our listeners is by empowering them and making sure that we have a structure that continuously lifts people out of poverty within a certain time frame, that’s exactly the idea behind the interest-free cooperative society.”

“We have more than 5000 people who have registered to be part of it”

“On Saturday, that would be the grand finale for our anniversary, it’s going to take place at the International Conference Centre UI, and we are going to be having The Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, as the chairman of the occasion, and the Royal father of the day is the Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba (Dr) Lekan Balogun and other prominent Royal Father across the part of Nigeria and also other prominent people in the society who have seen how Agidigbo FM has been touching lives and they deem it fit to come and celebrate with us. So, that will start at 10:00 am at the ICT Hall on Saturday, of course at the end of that event that day we will have to gbe body eh a little bit, so, Alh. Taye Currency is going to be there as well to serenade us and lastly to wrap everything up is the special Thanksgiving service that we are going to hold at the Christ Revival Miracle Church of Rev P.F Owa, that’s at the back of eyin Grammar on Sunday and with that, we will hang it and see you all till next year.
