NARRATED HOW MUM GAVE HIM 3MILLION OUT OF HER 5MILLION GRATUITY TO BUY FIRST SCHOOL BUS FOR VALENCIA COLLEGE
Tributes and encomiums have continue to trail the demise of Mrs. Victoria Oluranti Morakinyo who passed on to the Lord in early month of December.
Children, family members and well wishers have had good things to say about the deceased who was a mother to the proprietor of Valencia School Akobo, Ibadan, Goodness Temilolu Morakinyo.
“Since I have become matured, I have never see my mother become ill, this is her first sickness that took her away from us, it is so painful because I never expect it can be so fast like this”, said the Valencia boss.
Mrs. Oluranti left this sinful world after a remarkable life of 64 years, according her profile, she had her primary school in Lagos, Secondary in Ado Ekiti, United Missionary College (UMC), Oke Ado Ibadan for her teachers training certificate in 1975.
She later graduated from Ilesa college of education in 1981, got her first degree from university of Benin with her master’s degree from Adekunle Ajasin University, all in education.
Ibadanmedia.com gathered that Mrs Oluranti Morakinyo served under the Oyo State Post Primary School Teaching Commission and retire as a school principal at Bioku Aladun Community High school, Ibadan after her 35years of meritorious service in the teaching profession which she became the Pioneer principal of Valencia School immediately.
According to Evang. (Mrs.) Joy Damilola, the first born of the late Mrs Oluranti Morakinyo, “our mother was the embodiment of motherhood, she was everything to us and guided us properly in education line, carrier, marital and in the ways of the Lord, we will surely miss you mum”, said Damilola.
“In 2010 when I wanted to start Valencia College, she only had 1year to her service as a civil servant then, she told me she will resign so that we can start the school together. Few years later when I needed to buy a school bus and I told her how urgent I needed the money, she told me not to worry that she was processing her gratuity, when she got the money which was totalled 5 million Naira, she gave me 3 million out of it to buy the first school bus which I have not refund till her time was up”, Goodness Morakinyo who was the first son of the deceased revealed.
He added that “there’s no way I will ask to talk about Valencia School and I will not mention her name countless time. She was my mentor, role model, my spiritual backbone and everything. I never expect this can happen so soon, it is very painful and now am scare to move on”.
The service of songs/evening of tribute/candle night in honor the late Mrs Oluranti Morakinyo was held on Thursday 26th at the Valencia junior academy and on Friday the lying in state at her residents at Amuloko was held, while church service at her church, Victoria memorial Anglican Church, Olorunsogo, followed and internment at all souls rest park and reception took place immediately at International conference centre, University of Ibadan on the same date.
