Nicolas Pepe says forming a blistering attacking trio with PALs Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette convinced him to sign for Arsenal.
Ivorian winger Pepe finally completed his club-record 72 million pound move from French club Lille Thursday night and fans immediately christened the new strike force PAL, with the three of them playing up to the tag too.
Aubameyang posted an Instagram story asking where Lacazette was, with Laca doing the same before Pepe posted one asking where they both were.
Pepe cannot wait to get going with the Pepe-Auba-Laca trident after meeting the squad at London Colney training ground yesterday.
Pepe, 24, has signed a five-year deal worth £140,000 a week.
He said: “When I knew I was coming to Arsenal, I immediately thought of all the guys who have played in France.
“The world champions, of Lacazette, Aubameyang and many more.
“Of course these are the players who sprang to mind because I used to watch them when I was at Lille.
“I have had the opportunity to play against Lacazette when he was with Lyon — and now it will be an honour to be alongside him.
“Being here is very emotional, because it has not been easy for me.
“I have come a long way and struggled a lot — so signing for this great club is a big reward.
“We thought a lot about making this move during the Africa Cup of Nations last month.
“I talked about it with my family and my agents”, Pepe disclosed.
